Chapter 1: Breakfast in Gryffonese

Updated the map!

Everything should now be to scale. I also moved the two NPC's to their respective spots, or at least where I think they should be.

The initiative isn't in order on the map, but we can keep track of that ourselves.

Just click on the link and you can see the map. If it's your turn and you want to move, you can click on your icon and move it. Each space is 5 feet. When you're done, click on 'Pass turn and copy URL for forum to clipboard'. Then just click on 'Copy URL to clipboard' in the new window, and you can paste that into your post!

It's easy enough to keep track. Again, any questions, and just ask me.

Ooc: we can for sure. Maybe it would be smart to finish this fight and fold in a newbie afterward? I'm not sure how to proceed.

Ezythyr calmly narrowed his eyes. He took a few steps to the side, to survey the whole battlefield, trying to decide what was most advantageous.

"Just hit the buggers!"

Sighing to himself, he raised his staff, pointing at the leader as a glow of sickly green energy grew at the tip.

[Springwarden Sord Wheelder takes 9 points of poison damage... doubled to 18 points of poison damage due to the location of the Ray of Sickness blast and pre-existing medical conditions.]

Sord is doubled over, and begins belching heavily. He had long attempted to hide his bowel issues from his men--hiding in the bushes to empty himself during breaks in travel, not eating any food that he didn't prepare himself--but a magic strike well placed in his right lower quadrant was all it took to set off a bodily chain reaction. Sord suddenly began to violently soil himself, vomitus erupting from his mouth and splashing off his chest armor and landing on the grass before him. A foul, brown tone preceded a foul odor, which begat the spasm of his posterior gushing and leaking forcefully.

Archie had already nocked an arrow and had aimed to pierce the mountain dwarf right in his little heart, but the "brown note" and accompanying sight and smell coming from Sord's incident thoroughly disgusted him. It proved distracting enough to Archie to flinch him, turning his face and body to the left away from the foulness... and the direction of his flying arrow toward Daggard's head.

Archie's arrow is loosed in the direction of Daggard's right ear, and narrowly grazes him. The sound of the arrow flight and the sting of the paper cut-like pain in his earlobe initially panic Daggard, who turns back to angrily glare at Archie.

"If you shoot in my general direction again, I'm going to bury this dagger in your chest," Daggard yells at an already-nervous Archie, "and then I'm collecting your share of the man-wolf's bounty! You ain't never smelled a 'full-body release' before?"

Archie stuttered out his apology, "P...ppp...please don't kill me! I didn't mean it, man, seriously... But look at Sord, man, this grift is going sideways fast! Game over, man!!!"

"Ya boi is in pretty rough shape, but not as rough shape as you're about to be in." Thokk said and smiled to himself self-consciously. All the heroes in the stories his mother told had cool lines, before a hit, after, sometimes during. Why couldn't Thokk think as quickly as he could hit? Oh well, he thought, one thing at a time.

Thokk swung his longsword at axel.
